Our screw machine shop is equipped with 78 multi-spindle automatic screw machines for manufacturing components such as hydraulic valve parts, shafts, plumbing fixtures, and automotive components. Each multi-spindle screw machine is equipped with multiple tools that perform different cutting operations sequentially. Components can be turned from solid as well as tubular stock of materials such as steel, brass, stainless steel, aluminum, and carbon steel.

Ashley Ward, Inc operates 28 multi spindle Davenports. Our 5-spindle Davenport screw machines are best suited for producing component parts below 3/4" in diameter. The Davenport Model B multi-spindle screw machine at our machine shop is equipped with threading, countersinking, and 5th position burring attachments for turning components with distinct features such as external threads, internal threads, and axial holes.

Ashley Ward also operates 50 Acme Gridley multi-spindle screw machines with bar diameters up to 3 1/2". Our Acme Gridley screw machines have either 6 or 8 spindles. The multi-spindle automatic screw machines can also be used for turning materials with diameters as small as 0.2". The 6-spindle Acme chuckers also enable us to turn parts with eccentric surface features. Beside typical turning features such as external & internal steps, slots, knurls, and tapers, we also produce pieces rolled with circumferential markings.
