Multi Spindle Machining of Aluminum Choke Sleeve for the Automotive Industry
A client from the automotive industry recently contracted Ashley Ward to manufacture a series of choke sleeves. Constructed from 6061-T6 aluminum material, we were able to manufacture these components using our advanced Davenport multiple spindle machine. By employing this advanced machinery, we were able to maintain a tight precision tolerance of (±) .005 of an inch.
Based off of a customer supplied print, we manufactured each choke sleeve to measure precisely .927 of an inch in length and .6875 of an inch in outer diameter. After production was complete, each part was plated with a yellow anodized finish, increasing the choke sleeves' corrosion resistance.
Providing top-notch, precision machining services within a short, 6-8 week turnaround period, Ashley Ward was able to successfully manufacture 50,000 aluminum choke sleeves for the automotive industry. Meeting precise client specifications, these parts exceeded our customer's expectations for quality.
