Our Cincinnati Cold Drawn division sells this company four million
pounds of cold drawn steel bars on a consignment basis while our Florida
division makes the steering shaft. We partnered with this company to customize
a “milk man” approach for their business. Like the milk man who comes
to his customers’ stores and replaces old milk with new milk, our
“milk man” works on-site at the customer’s facility to keep
their inventory flowing on an even keel.
What makes this partnership unique is that we deliver our steel
and steering shafts to the customer on an as-needed basis. Our customer
representative works on site and maintains an inventory of our products within
their plant. It’s the best of both worlds for the customer because they
receive just-in-time delivery at true zero inventory cost.

representation keeps us up to speed with the customer’s inventory needs.
Fluctuations can be handled easily and most transactions are
“paperless.” Ashley Ward’s computer receives the customer’s
manufacturing schedule weekly, and then it’s up to us to be sure the parts
are there – the customer doesn’t even have to write up purchase
