Ashley Ward, Inc., headquartered in Mason, Ohio and one of the nations largest and oldest independent precision machining companies, has announced that three of its facilities have been awarded certification to the ISO 9001:2000 standard.
The three locations include the companys Cincinnati Cold Drawn, Inc. division located in Hamilton, Ohio; the FiTech, Inc. division located in Michigan City, Indiana; and the Ashley Ward, Inc. manufacturing and headquarters facility located in Mason, Ohio.
Cincinnati Cold Drawn, Inc. manufacturers steel bars in a full range of sizes, shapes and grades that are sold to both captive and independent precision machining facilities around the country.
The FiTech division is a dedicated Hydromat facility with 21 Hydromat Rotary Transfer machines currently in operation. This division specializes in the production of complex, precision-machined parts in high-volume quantities.
Ashley Ward Inc.s headquarters location produces precision-machined parts on a wide range of equipment, including CNC machining centers; single spindle screw machines and multi-spindle screw machines. The company also offers complete secondary operation services such as induction heat-treating, centerless and cylindrical grinding, broaching, gear hobbing, component assembly and robotic welding.

Ashley Ward, Inc. is pleased to announce a groundbreaking ceremony on January 27, 2005 that initiates construction on a new 50,000 square ft. facility in the Harbor Industrial Park north of Green Cove Springs, Florida. The new facility will be replacing an existing 12,000 square ft. facility, which was opened in 1980 in the ABC Industrial Park in Orange Park, Florida. The purpose of the expansion is to accommodate growth that the company has experienced over the past few years. The $1.75 million facility will eventually increase the company's employee base in Clay County from the current 20 full-time workers to approximately 100. There will also be over $1 million in additional machinery and equipment brought in to support the increasing production.
Ron Coleman, Chair of the Clay County Development Authority said, "This new construction is another step toward continuing growth and development of Clay County's manufacturing industries and the Development Authority certainly welcomed this tremendous opportunity to work with Ashley Ward to increase jobs here in Clay County."
Currently at $45 million in annual sales, Ashley Ward has shown tremendous growth over the last decade and decided that Clay County was an ideal location to continue this growth. According to William H. Ward, Chairman, the Florida operation has been a big part of the company's success as an industry leader. "Our team of employees in Clay County has been second to none. This has been one of our most efficient and productive operations, providing impeccable quality and service to our customers. As we grow, we feel that the workforce in this area will give us our best opportunity to compete and be successful in the world market."
Ashley Ward, Inc., established in 1908, is a production machining company providing precision screw machine components for OEM's in the appliance, lawn & garden, automotive, medical, defense and marine industries. The company, which is headquartered in Mason, Ohio, operates facilities in Ohio, northern Indiana, Florida and Texas. In addition, the company also operates a cold drawn steel facility in Ohio.
